Young riders star at national equestrian championships

Thai Polo & Equestrian Club in East Pattaya recently played host to the annual King’s Cup Thailand Equestrian Championships 2016, held from September 15-18.

The event drew young riders and horse enthusiasts from all parts of the country and also included a quality field of international competitors.  Prizes were on offer in five distinct tests of horsemanship: Dressage, Jumping, Eventing and Endurance plus a separate category for ponies.

Former Pattaya mayor Ittipol Khunplume was on hand to present Kings Cup trophies to the winners on Sept. 18.  Successful in the four main disciplines were Rawischa Vechakorn (Dressage), Jaru­porn Sompichart (Jumping), Areenata Cahwathanon (Eventing) and Patcha Sawatkijthanrong (Endurance).

Opened in 2003, Thai Polo & Equestrian Club Pattaya has established Thailand as an international centre for polo, dressage, show jumping, and major equestrian events.  The club covers 800 acres and includes a full range of world-class equestrian facilities.
