Pattaya-area Germans celebrated the 26th Unity Day at an event at Harbor Mall.
Expat Horst Mueller arranged the Oct. 3 celebration with local countrymen to commemorate the anniversary of German reunification in 1990 and the anniversary for the re-founding of the five states Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringen.
They joined to sing the German national anthem even as they conceded they now consider Thailand home.
