BANGKOK,(NNT) – The government will allow certain types of recreational activities during this time of sorrow.
Deputy Prime Minister Gen Tanasak Patimapragorn said the latest National Culture Commission’s meeting had agreed to allow traditional festivities namely Loy Krathong, New Year Festival, and Songkran to be organized as usual. However, there are some activities that can not be permitted this year such as Loy Krathong beauty contests and concerts.
As for fireworks, he said this popular activity should take place only in appropriate locations and must first be approved by government officials.
Festivities like Christmas and New Year should be celebrated appropriately. He also asked festival goers to dress politely and conduct themselves in a thoughtful manner.
