BANGKOK, (NNT) – The Thai premier has expressed his appreciation towards the international community whom he called friends of Thailand for their sympathy over the loss of the Thai King.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha offered his thanks to those who sent condolence messages to Thailand to express their sorrow and sadness at the passing of HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. He also thanked them for lowering their national flags to half-staff as a mark of respect to the Thai monarch.

He said the Foreign Ministry of Thailand will send letters of thanks to those nations.

He went on to say that these gestures by other nations are a good indicator of strong relationships with them all.

The prime minister also thanked Thai embassies and Thai nationals residing outside the country for showing their love and respect for the King whose innumerable contributions to the well being of his subjects are incomparable.
