Sattahip Sub-District Chief Radjai Bandithsilp and security director Chawat Thepthap led the delegation to Sanam Luang’s old cremation grounds Oct. 17 where thousands of people waited to approach the Grand Palace to express their condolences on the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

In all, the Sattahip residents distributed 3,000 sets of chicken pad krapao (chicken with hot basil) topped with fried egg or pork with stick rice, sweets and drinking water.

Radjai’s 9-year-old son Kerkrith held a sign that read “Sattahip Loves Our Father” and helped serve the food.

Radjai said Sattahip residents mourn the passing of the King they considered the father of Thailand. Just as he showed kindness and concern for people’s welfare, Sattahip residents wanted to do something for those coming out to mourn him, she said.
