IPGC Golf from the Tara Court Golf Group

Sunday, Oct. 16, Green Valley – Stableford

1st Shaun Tracy (15) 43pts

2nd John Dearden (21) 37pts

3rd Geoff King (17) 37pts

4th Joe McArdle (14) 35pts

5th Rod Torrie (11) 35pts

We weren’t quite so lucky with the weather today here at Green Valley as we got a lot of rain and had to take a break for over an hour.  Despite the delay we still had some very good scores today.

We have one player who has been steadily losing shots off his handicap and today Shaun Tracy had a brilliant forty-three points, which I think is our best score this here year.  We then had two players who probably thought they had done enough to win under the conditions as both had thirty seven points.  John Dearden had the better back nine and so won the count back to take second place and his friend Geoff King had to settle for third.

We also had a count back for the fourth and fifth places with Joe McArdle coming out on top to take the fourth place with thirty five points and Rod Torrie taking the fifth and last spot.

We had three ‘2’s today, from Joe McArdle, Joe Peters, John Dearden.

When we arrived here at Mountain Shadow with our friends from the PFGS we discovered there was another group also waiting to tee off at eleven o’clock.  The starter agreed to put us out off the tenth and so it didn’t turn out to be a problem and we still got around in good time.

Although the group wasn’t very big today we still had some very good scores, especially as we played off the blue tees, which can make this course difficult.  Actually this week our golfers seemed to be coming into form and for the second time we had a score of forty three points.  Today it was the turn of Craig Robson who is back for a short break and he will be seeing a sharp reduction in his handicap after this performance.  In second place was Craig Hitchens with thirty seven points and Gerry Hannan took the third spot with thirty two.

We had two ‘2’s today, coming from Joe McArdle and Craig Robson.
