A construction worker died after being washed away in a flash flood in Pong.
The body of Srongsak Khasudjai, 38, was pulled from a tangle of water plans and scrap in the Huay Yai Mook creek Nov. 8 following a torrential downpour that created a 10-meter-wide torrent of water running through the Moo 6 village community.
The victim’s brother, Pakdee Khasudjai, 32, said he and his family has come from Nakhon Phanom to cut grass and do construction. They were living on privately-owned vacant land and had built about 20 small huts.
The day before there was heavy rain, which caused massive flooding and overflowed Huay Yai Mook, so they all evacuated.
Family members tried to help each other move their belonging to higher ground, but Srongsak was washed away into the creek.
