Aid distributed to villages hit by flash flooding

HRH Princess Soamsawali visited Mae Taeng after the district was hit by heavy rains and flash floods last week. The Princess designated Apai Janthanajulaka, Vice President of the Princess of Pa Foundation, Red Cross Society as the royal representative to visit and distribute 50 sets of survival bags to flood victims.

HRH Princess Soamsawali was met by Deputy Governor Prachuab Kanthiya, and Monsuda Chamniprasart, President of the Chiang Mai Provincial Red Cross at Wat Baan Chang in Mae Taeng District on November 16, 2016. Mae Taeng Chief District Officer Sarawuth Thaicharoen gave a report on the situation in Mae Taeng.

Heavy rains and flash floods affected 11 villages in 11 sub-districts, affecting 605 families and killing one man. Agricultural areas were also hit hard by the flooding. Chiang Mai Province also distributed survival bags and necessities to the flood victims.
