Pattaya’s top lawyer has warned beach masseuses against helping foreign laborers work on the sand by renting them massage uniforms.
Legal Department head Sretapol Boonsawat told beach vendors and municipal police at a Nov. 24 meeting that there have been complaints submitted to Chonburi Province that a group of illegal migrant workers were taking jobs from Thais by simply renting and wearing the blue shirts that masseuses wear on Pattaya and Jomtien beaches, particularly on weekends and holidays.
The vendors were warned they could face fines and jail time for facilitating the employment of illegal aliens.
Sretapol promised that more-specific regulations would be released at a future meeting.
