Over four hundred people from many business backgrounds in the community attended the Movers and Shakers networking party at Mantra Restaurant and Bar on Saturday the 3rd of October.
Taking over the Amari flagship restaurant is no mean feat and involved removing all the tables and chairs to make way for the huge crowd.
The M&S team started the day early, building a stage and runway for the various musical acts, positioning lights, testing smoke machines and tweaking the speakers to get an amazing sound system.
Meanwhile, a Porsche 997 Generation One – GT3 valued at approximately 10 million baht was being unloaded and placed in prime position outside the entrance. The Porsche was supplied by Thomas Raldorf of TR-Motorsport and came with a custom livery for the event highlighting the main sponsor, One Tower, and of course Movers & Shakers.
Two lovely grid women were also in attendance and more than happy to pose with the guests and the car for photographs throughout the evening. The Porsche will feature in the upcoming 2017 Thailand Super Series racing in the GTC Super Car Class.
With everything in place the M&S team opened the doors at 6:30 p.m. to welcome the guests. The bar at Mantra quickly filled up, chilled drinks were served, and photographers were constantly shooting the endless stream of networkers for this ‘Red Carpet’ event.
In the last few years Movers and Shakers were responsible for a change to the normal forms of networking. With M&S all the guests make an effort to look their best which is ensured by a strict dress code. These events were staged in Bangkok and here in Pattaya, though it’s been a year since the last one in Pattaya.
On Saturday the 3rd there was a great party atmosphere as people were getting into the holiday spirit and looking forward to the New Year after a year that for many in the real estate sector, would sooner be forgotten.
The staff at Mantra were perambulating with the drinks, ample food stations were being constantly replenished, and Resident Manager Richard Gamlin and Executive Chef Shaun Venter both keeping a close eye on every detail.
Entertainment on the night was provided by vocalists Mickey Black and Fluke along with Pui, Pang on the saxophone, and a dance act called Setup Mountain.
