Cabinet extends diesel levy cut for another month

BANGKOK, 21 August 2012  – The Cabinet has agreed to extend the diesel levy cut for one more month until September 30. 

According to Government Spokesperson Ms. Sansanee Nakpong, the cabinet has agreed to extend the diesel levy cut, which is due to expire on August 31, for another month.

The cut – from over 5 baht per litre to 0.0050 baht – has been in effect for over a year. The policy aims to keep the retail diesel price below 30 baht per litre in the face the oil price rise.
