Fast & furious at Pattaya Watersports Festival

Speedboats and jet skis were flying fast and furious to the finish line at the Pattaya Watersports Festival.

Sonthaya Kunplome, president of the Sports Association of Chonburi, opened the Dec. 24-25 competition in Jomtien with city and tourism officials.

Jet skis and boats raced in nine separate categories with the top three winners in each bracket taking home 10,000, 5,000 and 3,000 baht respectively.

The top three (in order) for each category were as follows:

Jet Ski Yamaha 650cc Standard: Weerapong Artburai, Wuthipong Suwantongkhaow and Banjong Thongkhum.

Formula F5 (40 HP): Kreing­sak Thongkhaow, Wichupan Kaewkuey and Pichet Jitsupap.

Yamaha XL VN Standard: Kreingsak, Somporn Khun­jeng and Satit Puakpong.

Jet Ski Yamaha Blaster Open: Pitak Jairew, Piernrath Srikongrak and Pokawat Jaisantuson.

Jet Ski Yamaha Three-Passenger Banana Boat 700cc: Rachan Aramwong, Wichai Sonraksa and Kriengsak.

Jet Ski Yamaha Two-Passenger Banana Boat 650cc: Arm Bom, Weerapong and Teerapong Khunjeng.

Sports Boat 40 HP Standard: Mongkol Euafua, Sarayut Kongyu and Kriengsak.

Sports Boat 40 HP Two-Motor Open: Nopadol Phu­long, Somkiert Petchprakong and Sarayut Kongyu.

Junior (Age 12 and Under): Teerawat Pumthong, Weerakarn Puangyen and Wuthichai Sonraksa.
