Dutch band highlights RCES holiday party

A Dutch swing band and singing Thai children highlighted the Rotary Club of the Eastern Seaboard’s annual Christmas Party.

Carl Dyson and Jan Abbink were the masters of ceremony at the Dec. 23 dinner at the Siam Bayshore Hotel and Spa. They introduced President Rodney James Charman, who welcomed all the guests.

Children from the Child Protection Development Center, the ASEAN Education Centre and the Pattaya Orphanage, all under the leadership of Radchada Chomjinda, the director of Human Help Network Thailand, performed dances and sang Christmas carols.

Hotel employees also joined in, adding their voices to the choir.

The main event, however, was the performance by B2f: Big to the Future, a nine-man jazz and pop ensemble from the Netherlands under the leadership of Jos Muijtjens.

Of course, Santa Claus also showed up and brought presents for all the children before posing for photos.

More gifts were raffled off with funds going to the RCES’ charity fund.
