Residents of three East Pattaya neighborhoods have had enough of the stench coming from a Sukhumvit Soi 3 garbage dump.
Former City Councilman Anupong Bhudanawarut accompanied residents of the Kratinglai, Rongmaikeed and Tongsai communities to the Pattaya Complaint Center Jan. 6.
Kratinglai resident Tee Kladsomthon, 68, said there are two separate dump sites nearby and one is no longer able to hold any more rubbish, as it is overflowing, and the other area is nearly full as well.
The stench from the garbage transfer stations has been a problem for a while, but no one in authority has dealt with the problem, so they contacted one of their former elected leaders for help.
A check of the two dumpsites found workers sorting the trash, but they barred reporters from taking photos of the mountains of refuse where the smell was overwhelming.
