Local girl wins Miss Chiang Mai 2017 crown

A native Chiang Mai resident and student at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University took home the Miss Chiang Mai 2017 crown last week and was named the 64th Miss Chiang Mai in the popular event.

Supaporn Ritthipruk “Nong Bow” is taking a Thai major at the Faculty of Education at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University; she also took home Miss Personality as well as Miss Central Festival, Miss Smile By Muang Thai Life Insurance, Miss Bangkok Clinic 2017, and Miss Air Asia 2017.

The winner received a diamond crown and 100,000 baht in the contest. First runner up went to 18 year-old Prapasiri Intarungsri, studying English at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. She also won the Miss Popularity Contest and took home 50,000 baht. Runners up took home 25,000 baht and included Walulee Duangwana, also winner of Miss Photogenic, Pijika Kongsatan, and Chayanith Tor Charoen who also won Miss Lifestyle by M Boutique Resort.

The contest began with 20 contestants and ended with the final five. Miss Chiang Mai 2016 Atcharee Buakiew made her final farewell walk on stage before the announcement of Supaporn Ritthipruk as the new Miss Chiang Mai.
