BANGKOK, 6 September 2012 – Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has revealed that in order to further improve and support the One Tambon One Product (OTOP) project, she has assigned 4 ministries to help OTOP entrepreneurs.
According to Ms. Yingluck, the ministries of Interior, ICT, Industry, and Commerce will give their full support to OTOP entrepreneurs in order to help them create more income. The ministries will also conduct researches to improve product design and encourage innovation while helping find new markets for the products.
Speaking at the signing ceremony of an MoU to promote integrated development of 4-star OTOP goods termed as “OTOP Plus”, the Prime Minister stated that OTOP products are the pride of the country and need to be uplifted to be on par with counterpart products in international markets. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed to develop OTOP products with high commercial viability for the creative economy and to expand their market opportunities.
