The Chiang Mai Office of the Narcotics Control Board paid a visit to Pattaya’s Soi Kophai Community to study its award-winning anti-drug program.

Neighborhood President Wirat Joyjinda welcomed Thipmed Sangkawanna, director of strategy and operations for ONCB Region 5, and 45 fellow officers who wanted to learn about the community’s program to build a strong and stable village that is free of drugs.

Kophai officials explained how their grassroots program uses a mix of behavior adjustment and teaching of HM the late King’s “sufficiency economy” philosophy to control the spread of narcotics in their community.

The program has received awards nationally for several years for its effectiveness.

Once their study was complete, the junket’s next stop was the beach in Koh Larn.
