A very good week for the group started out at the always difficult Treasure Hill course where it was found to be in good condition, but as usual the scoring was difficult.

In the first division, playing from the white tees at over 6,700 yards, the CSS for the day moved out to 75 against the par of 72, and in the second and third divisions, from the yellow tees at just under 6,400 yards, the CSS moved to 74.

The winner in the first division was Vic Woolton after he won a count back over Richard Bannister with a better 11 to 10 over the last six holes after they had halved the nine in 16 each.  Third place went to Mark Williams a shot behind the leading pair and fourth went to Sam McLellan also another shot back.

The second division was led in by Dave LeHane with the by far the best score of the day, as his golden streak of form continues and he is sure to see his handicap tumble at the next review.  Allan Hanlon also had a very good round, being the only other player in the large field to better his handicap as he took second place, with Dave Moriaty in third and Niall Caven in fourth, both making a good impression in their first event with the group.

The third division was taken by Brendan Dunne some way behind the other winners as the division, all twenty one plus players, found the going very testing.  Wilf Wellman again showed well in second place and Phil Stevenson took third after winning a count back over fourth placed Markku Tynell with a better score of 14 to 13.

There were no2s in the second division but Sam McLellan, Mike Dabanovich and Allan Hanlon shared the first division pool.

Another big entry for the once a fortnightly visit to Khao Kheow where the A & B courses were set for play and as usual the course was found to be in great shape with the greens running quite fast and  the fairways pristine.

Keith Emerson returned to the group on his one day off from working to win by a narrow one point margin ahead of a count back between Mike Dabanovich and Mark Williams, which Mike won with a stunning 19 to 13 as Mark collapsed through the last nine holes, returning a gross 45 to follow a gross 37 for the opening half when it looked like he would at last take the top step and earn the longed for reduction in handicap.  Lindsay spencer rounded out the division winners another stroke behind in fourth.

Peter Skinner.

The second division was headed by Brendan Dunne for his second win in the week with a solid level handicap return that was by far the best of the division.  He finished eight shots ahead of a three-way count back that Brian Lewis won with 16 for second.  Hal Hart placed third after beating Patrick Scullion by 8 to 7 over the last six following the tie on 14 apiece for the nine.

Paul Hubbard had the only 2 in the first division and Patrick Scullion cleaned out the massive rollover in the second division with a smooth one on the 125 yard 5th hole.

After placing second in the last two medal events Peter Skinner won with his best score of the three at two under handicap over a well-presented course that played well, with the newly designed and re-laid back nine greens continuing to improve.  Allan Hanlon took his second podium position of the week three further back and two ahead of third placed Gus Guidetti.

The second division saw Brendan Dunne round off an excellent triple win for the week four shots below his handicap and two ahead of Phil Stevenson, with both of them having a good run of form.

Patrick Scullion was third ahead of Mike Hill after he won a count back with a better 22.3 to 25 .3 over the last six holes.
