Poldej said the Navy has been doing these exercises annually to complete the training necessary to enhance the capabilities of sailors to perform operations.

The purpose of the training is to test three factors: the planning organization, strategic operations center, and the capabilities of various units.

The important parts of the sessions included joint tactical squadron training, cooperation between ships and aircraft, protection training of naval regions 1-3, armament exercises under tactical command of combat aircraft, amphibious warfare, and training with live ammunition.

The training also involved ground troops and the air force in an exercise at the Navy Training Field in Chanthaburi. Those courses run through November.
