Karun Sakulpradit, secretary-general of the Office of the Basic Education Commission, said the government not only is investing billions of baht on infrastructure, urban development and industry to make the three provinces a hub for Southeast Asian manufacturing and logistics, but wants to develop the workforce to meet the demands of new industries.

To do that, formal and informal education centers need to coordinate and create integrated curriculums that will build a capable workforce for the automotive, smart electronics, medical tourism, agriculture, biotechnology, robotics, aviation, logistics, biofuel and medical industries.

The event also featured a workshop where participants could exchange ideas for learning and planning of integrated operations and plan new courses.

The Education Ministry said it will use information gathered at the seminar to make operational plans and support educators.
