The numbers were down again for Monday’s outing and I have to say Songkran is certainly the main reason for this. Anyway, we still had an eager bunch of boys and girls keen to get out and have a hit at Greenwood CC.
We played the A & B nines from the white tees and as usual the course was in great condition. The fairways gave a bit of run whilst the greens played as they normally do on this great course. The weather was quite warm (as it should be this time of year) with no rain is sight but, as the day got longer the lack of breeze made it somewhat uncomfortable. On the return to The Swan we greeted many red faces and that had nothing to do with scores, more to do with lack of sunblock.
With a small field we played just 1 division which made the day very competitive. It was Tony Cook who came up trumps, returning a score of 36 points for first place, tipping out Alex Field via the count back system. Third home was Peter Bailey finding his way to the podium yet again on this trip.
