The Easter bunny was running late, but still managed to hop into the Child Protection and Development Center for a holiday visit.

The egg-bearing rabbit made its appearance at the Human Help Network Foundation Thailand shelter April 17, a day after Easter and too late to catch some of the center’s sponsors.

Nonetheless, Elfi’s Meditation Group organized an egg hunt and the kids, most of whom are Buddhist, were at a bit of a loss as to what to do.

The egg-hunters got extra help from children of Asian migrant workers who stay at the HHN’s Drop-In Center during the day. The holiday party was a first for many of them.

HHN Director Radchada Chomjinda put on a big buffet and hosted a lucky draw for gifts.

The organizers brought 140 hard-boiled, colored eggs, as well as some apple strudel, both of which disappeared quickly.

The kids, who snuck in snacks before the main meal, burned off some of their sugar-powered energy by dancing for the adult guests.
