BANGKOK, Oct 2 – If you are an Internet worshipper, here’s a piece of news to brighten your day. At least 50,000 spots nationwide will have the privilege of free Wi-Fi service, courtesy of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
ICT minister Anudit Nakornthap said the service will be available at major locations and communities including department stores, shops, restaurants, hotels, hospitals and educational
institutes to enable the public’s access to information through the Internet network.
The service, he said, will be an advantage to Thailand’s telecommunications infrastructure and industry.
Advance Info Service, or AIS, Thailand’s largest GSM mobile phone operator, will cooperate with the ministry in providing the Wi-Fi service free of charge, he added.
The minister did not say when the service will be launched.
