The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) held a Family Fun Bingo Night recently at Linda’s Restaurant on Thappraya Road in Jomtien. About 80 members, family members, and friends turned up to enjoy a delicious buffet dinner, discounted drinks, and a fun-filled evening of game-playing.

PILC President Ann Winfield welcomed everyone to Linda’s. She thanked restaurant owner Linda Eiksund for providing the venue, and for sponsoring the dinner. Ann also thanked JVK International Movers representative Paul Wilkinson for his firm’s generous sponsorship of the evening.

After making a few club announcements, Ann then went on to introduce the evening’s Bingo caller, long-time PILC member and former president, Gillian Thom. Gillian proceeded to explain how the game was played, for those people who had never played before, especially the children. Games started, and pretty soon cries of “Bingo” were ringing out around the room. Some great prizes were distributed to the numerous winners. Prizes had been donated by PILC members and local businesses, including The Sportsman Pub, Estee Beauty Saloon, Linda’s Restaurant, Shenanigans’ Pub Jomtien, and Alvi’s Cooking School, to name just a few.

About 15 rounds of Bingo were played all told, with one children’s round. This event was the third in a series of Family Fun Nights – the previous ones were Bowling and a Quiz Night – organized by PILC so that members could include their husbands, partners, and children in a sociable and fun evening out to meet old friends and make new ones. And, while the evening was organized as a social event, as usual with PILC, funds were also raised to help the many charitable projects that the Club supports.

The PILC is a non-profit, non-political group organized to support international women in developing friendships and to help expatriates settle into the community by providing opportunities for social, cultural, and philanthropic endeavors.
