The Pattaya Indoor Lawn Bowling Triples League & Cup competitions at the Coco Club came to a conclusion on Friday, Oct. 5 and it was the Thai girls who took the major honours by winning both events.
In the latter stages of the league – contested over 2 months – there were six teams in with a chance, showing the competitive and improved form of many newcomers, but in the end it came down to experience as Pin, On and Yuppa held off the challenge of Dave (the pro), Kelvin (the drummer) and ‘Coco’ Sue.

The Cup was all square at 5-all at the half way mark but a 4 shot winning end by the girls all but sealed it and Lek, Thanom and Pukky ran out 12-6 winners over “Big” Ken, “Little” Joe and Bank, our only Thai male player who would certainly be a strong contender for rookie of the year award!
The buffet and presentations were followed by a party with some new Frank Ifield, Elvis Presley and other look-a-likes and some very well regarded but dressed gogo apprentices – who said lawn bowls was old hat.
New players are always welcome at the Coco Club and with reserves waiting, another league will start soon to join the Tuesday mixed doubles, Wednesday Aussie brunch, Friday triples and Sunday “out of the hat” pairs. For more details call Sue on 087 135 8357.
