This year’s season finale of the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour in Bangsaen, Thailand will feature 3 Thai teams in the main draw after the pairing of Numwong and Hongpak were given a wild card by the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). They will join the Thai No 1 team of Radarong and Udomchavee and Thai No 2 team of Sannok and Tenpaksee who got automatic places in the main draw as Thailand is the host nation of the tournament
The main draw features 32 teams, with 24 direct entries and 8 qualifiers. A total of 14 countries gained direct acceptance into the main draw including 2 teams each from Brazil, Germany, Italy, Russia, Switzerland and the USA. Countries with one direct acceptance are Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Greece, Finland, the Netherlands and Spain.
Thailand’s top beach volleyball duo, Radarong and Udomchavee, will be in action at the Bangsaen Beach Volleyball World Tour event from Oct. 23-28.
A total of 35 teams from 19 countries will contest the qualifying rounds of the tournament. Included in the draw will be 2 Thai junior teams, Juajan and Kambut and Kaewjanta and Tangkaeo.
The Bangsaen Thailand Open powered by PTT is played over 6 days of competition from 23-28 October 2012. Matches start from 09.00 daily. Admission is free and in addition to the action on court, there is a large sponsor zone with games, activities and sales outlets.
The semi-finals on Saturday 27 October and finals on Sunday 28 October will be held from 16.00 – 18.00, with a “live” TV broadcast on both days on NBT, T-Sports and SVTV in Thailand and internationally to over 700,000,000 households worldwide.
