Chonburi Gov. Pakarathorn Thienchai hosted a ceremony to honor HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and bless HM the Queen Sirikit at Yai Intharam Temple.

The May 23 ceremony was held in the main hall of the Chonburi temple with the goal to commemorate Their Majesties. The governor acted as a layman’s host while Abbot Anek Thanissaro hosted a monastic ritual. The event was attended by many people.

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn personally instructed all provinces to hold a commemorative ceremony to honor HM the late King Bhumibol, as well as a blessing ceremony for HM the Queen.

For this occasion, portraits of the monarch and his widow were raised around the Chonburi area. The ceremony consisted of many prayer sessions and robe-offering rituals.

Afterwards, Pakarathorn and senior provincial officials offered amenities to the monks. The ceremony concluded with a Buddhist water libation.
