Police last Thursday arrested a Romanian man for allegedly stealing from three careless currency exchange clerks.

Paul Adrain Trica, 35, was captured holding 4,625 euros, $3,187, 14 ringgit and 12,890 baht – a total of about 307,000 baht.

Col. Thirapol Jindalhuang said exchange booths from Siam Commercial Bank, Kasikorn Bank and Ayuthaya Bank reported thefts by a Romanian man who claimed he wanted to exchange dollars and euros, then grabbed baht from the counter when the clerk wasn’t paying attention.  He’d then tell staffers he changed his mind and would walk away.
