A navy pilot survived when his sea research plane crashed in Sattahip.

The NAX01 went down June 10 in front of the Sea Turtle Conversation Center. Navy personnel stationed at the Air and Coastal Defense Command facility responded and retrieved both the pilot and aircraft from the sea.

The plane had damage to its right wing. The pilot, Capt. Akoret Yimak, suffered only minor injuries.

No specific reason for the crash was given. The NAX01 is primarily used as a research plane and to support rescue missions.
