IB students from Garden International School (GIS) have celebrated the end of their examinations – and the end of school – with a special evening at a five-star hotel.

GIS IB students have now finished their examinations for the International Baccalaureate Diploma – the world’s leading qualification for 16-18 year olds.

This year’s IB Formal evening was held on May 27 at the Hilton, Pattaya. Students arrived dressed in their finest suits and gowns and enjoyed an international/Thai buffet. Speeches were made by GIS Principal Mrs Hawtree, IB Coordinator Mr Beales and the IB Form Tutors, Mr Carr and Mr Berry. Mr Berry is the first teacher in the history of GIS to take a Tutor Group all the way through Secondary, from Year 7 to Year 13.

After some great final performances from the talented students, all the IB students made short speeches thanking their parents and teachers at GIS. The evening ended with the traditional throwing of mortarboards.

After graduating with the IB Diploma, these students will head off to various world-class universities to study everything from journalism, engineering, medicine and movie-making.
