The Thai Garden Resort threw a 73rd birthday party for retired Gen. Boongerd Wadwaree, a friend of the Pattaya hotel owner.

Owner Gerrit Niehaus and General Manager Rene Pisters hosted the June 22 soiree with guests Oranong Wadwaree, Pol. Col. Chaiyapat Wadwaree, chief of the Royal Thai Police’s General Staff Division, and Tithima Wadwaree.

The majority of guests were respected civilians, former army chiefs, councilors, businessmen and family members who all wished the general a happy birthday and more years to come.

Many of the guests were from Samut Prakan and Bangkok. An international buffet was set for the celebration with unlimited beverages and a band to entertain the guests.

Niehaus said it was an honor to be the host of the celebration and they are pleased to have all friends and family members of Boongerd there for the evening.

Boongerd thanked the hosts and the resort staff for their efforts, particularly Niehaus, who he called an “old comrade”. He also thanked guests, friends and family members for attending.

Boongerd retired from the Ministry of Interior at age 60. He was based in Samut Prakan where he had businesses and is known as a generous person who is always willing to support friends and family. He is currently the chairman of a local club in Samut Prakan with over 100 members.
