Tuesday, Feb. 22, Greenwood – Monthly PAGS Tournament
We arrived at the golf course today with 118 golfers (two last minute cancellations) all trying to win one of the 29 prizes on offer. It was just like the League of Nations with an Englishman, Irishman and a Chinaman taking the honours in the three divisions plus a Thai winner in the ladies flight.
Unfortunately we had a delay of about 30 minutes due to a freak storm early in the round but this did not seem to bother anybody as there were a few laughs and drinks taken in the watering holes. The average round was played in just under 4½ hours which is not bad for such a large field.

It would take far too long to mention so many winners but we should say well done to one old veteran, John Emerson, for his near pin on his first attempt in this competition. Another mention for Briany who had to be taken to hospital with chest pains after his win in the A Flight. Thankfully he is ok (it was probably just over-excitement at his win in the A Flight).
After two rounds the leader in the order of merit is Alan Griffiths in the men’s divisions and Moon is leading the ladies category.
Long drives went to Phil Slaney, Jum Karagit, Jason McDonald and Pimusa. Longest putts were holed by Kale Karlberg and (little Jon) John Warren while the near pins went to Pehr Werngren, Mikael Anderson, Jens Olssen, Landis Brooks, Jon Lay, Martin Grimondey (3), John Emerson, Charlie Ayres, Briany Christie, Jim Bunnzow, Richard Line and Alan Pilkington.

Friday, Feb. 25, Mt. Shadow – Stableford
Not so many golfers today so only one division, won again by that man in-form and coming down in handicap all the time (Mr. Muscles from Brussels) Pat Engles. Pat can be seen practicing or having lessons with Scott almost every day at the driving range so all the hard work he has been putting in is paying off. Beside his win again today Pat also had a near pin.
