Last week I stated that not too many people have won international motoring events driving a car they designed and built themselves, selling copies of his car, carrying his name. Jack Brabham won the World’s Driving Championship in one of his own cars, but who was this guy? It was Sydney Allard who won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1952 in one of his own Allards. He also competed at the Le Mans 24 hour events. In 1991 Sydney Allard was posthumously inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame
So to this week. What company was so concerned with quality that the front wishbones which were forged and hardness tested, all wore the examiner’s stamp.
