The delayed Pattaya Marathon 2017 will take place this coming Sunday mornning, September 3 from a start point on the city’s Beach Road (Central Road intersection).  The event is an international standard road race and has grown significantly since its inaugural launch in 1992.  Last year the event attracted a total of 15,000 entrants for all categories.

There are five categories of competition to choose from this year: a full marathon (42.195km), a half marathon (21.10km), a 10.55km run, a 3.7 km wheelchair race and a 3.7km fun run race.  A total of 1.1 million baht in prize money for all runners will be divided into the five race distances.

Pattaya Marathon is the most popular mass participation event in the city and attracts thousands of participants across the whole weekend.  The course can be very challenging and runners will need to be ready for the dry heat on Sukhumvit highway, the windy conditions along Jomtien beach and the steep slopes of Phratumnak hill coming back into town.

The event consists of various family, social, sporting and entertainment activities for everyone to be a part of.
