More than 100 ninth graders practiced evacuation procedures at Wat Sutthawat School held its second fire drill of the year.
Nongprue Mayor Mai Chaiyanit opened the Sept. 4 exercise at the Pattaya-area school with staff and teachers.
Nongprue firefighters and Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation volunteers instructed students and teachers on what they should do if a fire breaks out.
Activities included evacuation methods based on real-life scenarios. The use of fire hydrants was taught as well as fire exit routes. Furthermore, the students were taught basic first aid.
Lastly, the students were taught about risks of facilities catching fire and how to prevent it.
