Thirteen golfers decided to venture out to Emerald on Monday, a course that can be in perfect condition or can be longing for a bit of TLC.

As it turned out the course left a bit to be desired; the greens had been freshly sanded and it appeared that the rough had not been trimmed back for some time.

A group of 6 golfers were slotted in on hole-10 in front of our first group and this had a negative effect on all our players.  Mashi Kaneta returned the best score for the day, his40 points being enough to give him first place.  Second went to the count back with Walter Baechhli just pipping Steve Younger.

Nineteen golfers arrived with anticipation of checking out Eastern Star after a lengthy absence for many of the day’s group.  We teed off the yellow tees and the presentation of the course was very good, although the placement of the pins were in locations never before seen and made life very difficult for everyone.

Paul Hack came in with a best of the day 38 points to take top spot while Glenn Smith was second, getting better at the game he enjoys.  Bill Steinmann and Steve Younger had to be separated by count-back and Steve got the nod for third.  The lovely Lorraine Percy filled the final place on the podium and was a very popular place getter.
