Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Disabled will send athletes to the 31st Wieng Ping Games in Chiang Mai in January, hoping to continue a winning streak that already netted Olympic medals and new records.
At a meeting of Father Ray Foundation regional directors Nov. 15 in Pattaya, Secretary Likhit Thaksin said the school will send disabled athletes to complete in 14 categories at the Jan. 15-19 games. He urged regional offices to help sponsor them.

Likhit said Redemptorist athletes had a good 2012, taking second place at Jana’s OITA Wheelchair International Marathon with a school-best time of 2:03.03 in the T52 category, and grabbing a gold medal and two silver’s that this summer’s Paralympic Games in London.
The meeting, called to review the 2012 academic year as well as highlight upcoming events, focused on the Father Ray Foundation’s plans to open a new school in Nong Khai.
Director Udomchoke Churat said the cornerstone of the new Redemptorist School Nong Khai will be laid Nov. 30.
Other upcoming events include an alumni reception and forum following graduation Dec. 9.
