Monday, Sept. 25, Burapha – Stableford

Burapha A and B course presented the challenge today for the 9 Outbackers.  First and second places were paid with Vince Butler claiming second spot ahead of Bob Lindborg and John Langley while the winner with 35 points was John O Keefe.

There were two ‘2’s coming from Vince Butler and Jim Brackett.

Wednesday, Sept. 27, Royal Lakeside – Stableford

Just 6 golfers endured the drive up to Royal Lakeside and although the journey is a drag we arrived at the course to find we were the only people there.  The course was in excellent condition and to make us feel extra special they were ironing the greens in front of us.

John Hoddy’s drive landed under the arm of a JCB and he asked for a free drop, although the machine was deemed a moveable object.  Regrettably we couldn’t find the key to move the machine.  Anyway, John won the day with a solid 39 points.

Friday, Sept. 29, Silky Oak – Stableford

Again we were pushed from Green Valley to Silky Oaks and we gave a warm welcome to our travelling French comrades who boosted the field to 22 players, resulting in an even split of A and B grade.

Second place in the B Flight went to Thierry Temime with 37 points, prevailing over our own Bruce McAdam on count-back.  Queen of the jungle Eng Cotterill, with an outstanding 44 points, claimed the highest step on the podium.

Also great shooting in A Flight where Per Loevgren placed third with 37 points, recent arrival from Australia, Tony McDonough, settled in nicely with 39 points to claim second, and the winner, keeping it in the family, was Wayne Cotterell with 41 points.

There were seven ‘2’s which resulted in a somewhat diluted pot.  Those taking a share were Eng (2), John Stafford, Gerard Lambert, Thierry Temime and Sugar Ray.
