Thepprasit Road took the brunt of an Oct. 9 rainstorm, with the two-hour downpour bogging down traffic into Jomtien Beach.
About 500 meters of roadway were hit with up to 40 centimeters of flooding from the beginning of Soi Red-Black to Jomtien. Numerous cars stalled and bogged down traffic even more.
Pattaya workers responded by installing pumps to clear the backup.
Pumps also are installed in seven other flood-prone spots in Pattaya. Most areas cleared within an hour.
