Great scoring at Green Valley today as all the podium spots were separated by just a single stroke. The course was in good shape and again the rain held off till we were back in the club-house.
The man on fire, Mickey ‘nine holes’ Beresford, retuned a terrific 42 pints for the top spot on the podium and the match bragging rights despite a two stroke reduction to his handicap. Who can stop him? Well Jimmy ‘AK-47’ Bell very nearly did just that as he came up a shot shy of Mickey. Jim was one clear of Phil Davies while the fourth spot was taken by Barry Tregurtha a further shot back. The fifth podium slot was decided on a count back between Barry ‘the boot’ Copestake and Jack Grindvold with Barry leaving Jack at sea level and pot-less.

There is no stopping Mickey ‘nine holes’ Beresford as he won yet again, this time with a fine 39 points. It seems even the handicap system cannot keep up with him, but rest assured they will swoop again in the not too distant future.

Rain once again threatened but amazingly it held off till we were back in the club-house. Twelve players out today, so it was just one flight.
I think I have said enough about the days winner so coming second a point adrift of Mickey was Phil ‘the power’ Taylor, which left Lloyd Shutterworth to close the flight with a sound 37 points to go with his near pin on hole no eight.

14 players left the TPL to take on our regular stint at the Sir Nick Faldo designed Emerald G C. The weather was fine till we reached the sixth hole, then the heavens opened up and we had to sit through a thunder and lightning storm but only one player decided enough was enough and was last seen heading towards Ban Chang.
Phil ‘the power’ Taylor bettered his Tuesday second place as he carded a match winning 39 points and was one stroke clear of Barry ‘the boot’ Copestake. Tony Oakes took third with a solid even par round although he lost one or two balls on the day. Mark Watkins made his presence felt as he edged Bill Peach on a count-back for fourth place on the podium, both with 33 points apiece.
