Chonburi Gov. Wichit Chatpaisit presided over the area’s International Women’s Day festivities attended by more than 2,000 people Saturday.
Speeches on the development of women-related organizations and the presentation of plaques to 16 local women for contributions to agriculture, business, local government and the environment highlighted the day’s activities.

Chonburi Women’s Development Committee Chairwoman Satil Kunplome said the province has seen the establishment of many women’s related organizations since the start of Women’s Day in 1981.
