Beach chair vendors were warned to stick to their allotted number of benches during a city patrol of Pattaya Beach.
Maj. Col. Jeerawat Sukhonthazup, chief of the Pattaya Permanent Secretary Office’s Peace and Stability Maintenance Department, led regulatory-enforcement officers along the beachfront Nov. 25, checking for vendor encroachment into public sunbathing areas.
During the inspection, officers noticed several vendors had more chairs than they were licensed to offer for rent. They ordered the sellers to remove the extra furniture and warned them that exceeding their quota was punishable by law.
