Pattavia was in excellent condition although the greens, whilst being very flat and true, were back nearly to their old speeds which made for some interesting stories back in the clubhouse.
Dick Heaney just managed to squeeze out the win after winning a count back over Yasuo Suzuki with a better 6 to 5 over the last three holes. Either of them could have won outright on the last hole but both took double bogey sevens having found themselves above the hole after three.
Shuichi Kodaka was well in the hunt after finishing the front nine but slipped badly on the inward half and had to settle for third place.
Banjo Bannister then won a three-way count-back for fourth with a best 19 as Darryl Burkett took fifth after winning with a better 13 to 12 over the back six to leave Steven Downes in sixth after they had halved the back nine with 18 each.
Steven Downes cleaned out the first division rollover ‘2’s pot with a two-footer on the 138-yard 4th hole whilst Brendan Dunne knocked one in from a little further out on the 139-yard 13th hole to clean out the second division rollover pool.
Wednesday, Nov. 8, Khao Kheow (yellow tees) – Stableford

A very good day for golf with overcast skies and little wind made the going a little easier for some although the course played quite long due to the wet fairways and lack of run form the tee.
Banjo Bannister improved on his previous outing to sweep to the front after an outstanding opening nine, and although his inward half was not quite so good he did just enough to hold on to first place after Kevin Blake failed to score on the last two holes.
Larry Gibb, having just returned from an extended break, had to settle for third place as he found the leaders in such good form.
Frank Hughes returned to the group to claim fourth place ahead of a count-back between Howard Jeglum and Steven Downes for fifth place which the former won with a better 10 to 9 over the last six after they had halved the nine with 15 each.
There were no 2s in either of the divisions.
Friday, Nov. 10, Pattaya C.C. (white tees) – Stableford

Once again the local Pattaya Country Club course was found to be in very good shape although there were several areas that had suffered from the recent wet weather, but a local ‘lift and place’ rule helped with most of the problems.
Darry Burkett denied Steven Downes a much craved for win in his last event with the group when he won a count-back with a better 19 to 17 after they had both returned level handicap cards.
Kevin Blake was a very close third after he won another count-back, this one with Peter Skinner, with a better 19 to 18 to leave Peter in fourth place. It was certainly a very competitive four-ball they, the top four, played in, being the lowest handicaps on the day.
Hal Hart then won yet another count-back, this with John O’Sullivan with a better 19 to 17 to take fifth place and leave John in sixth.
Once again there were no 2s in either of the divisions.
