A monk came to the rescue of five dogs tied up in a sack and tossed to the side of the road near Pattaya.

Preecha Intasaro called on residents on Tungkom-Tanman Soi 8/1 to help him Nov. 12 after he found the black Thai-breed dog, about seven years old, with four month-old puppies caught in the tied-up sack.

The mother dog, trying to protect her young, snapped at the monk trying to help, but he gave the dog some donated food through a hole in the bag to gain its trust.

Eventually Preecha was able to free the canines.
