2nd JJ Harney (15) net 70

B Flight

1st Donal McGuigan (19) net 72

2nd Peter Henshaw (23) net 74

3rd Joe Peters (24) net 74

The numbers are starting to rise now that high season is near so today we had two flights for the competition but just one for the medal, which was won by Bob St Aubin with a net 69 and Bob was also the winner of the A flight.

The scoring wasn’t quite as good in the B flight and here Donal McGuigan was the winner with a net seventy two.

Francis McGuigan was playing his first game for this trip today and made it a very profitable one as he had the only ‘2’ of the day.

Tuesday, Nov. 14, Mt. Shadow – Stableford

On a very still & humid day we had 22 players take on Mountain Shadow with an even split of 11 players from the blue tees & 11 from the whites.

The blue tee was won on count-back with Gerry Hannan(12) the winner after just edging out Andy Featherstone(5) on the back nine 19/17 after both tied on 34 points overall.  In third place was Craig Hitchens (15) with 31 points coming fourth was Francis McGuigan (13) with 29.

John Kelly (27) won off the white with 35 points, three up on Daryl Burkett(12) in second while Glenn Armitstead(19) took third with 30 and Bernie Stafford(16) filled fourth spot with 29 on a count-back over Joe Peters.

There were no ‘2’s in either flight.

Thursday, Nov. 16, Bangpra – Stableford

1st Russell Gilroy (18) 36pts

2nd Andy Featherstone (5) 35pts

3rd Joe Peters (24) 34pts

4th Michael Williams (14) 34pts

We found the Bangpra course in excellent condition and while the greens weren’t as fast as they used to be they weren’t really slow and were actually easier to putt on than before.

This is a long course and today was playing even longer due to the rain over the past few days so it was no surprise that only one player managed to play to his handicap.  This was Russell Gilroy who has found his form again and was the winner with thirty six points.  Andy Featherstone kept up his usual good golf and was second with thirty five and Joe Peters got the third place with thirty four on a count back over Michael Williams.

Francis McGuigan had a very good pay day as he got the only ‘2’ of the day.
