Monday, Nov. 27, Parichat – Stableford

On Monday the TRGG visited Parichat for 4 hours of self-torture. Playing straight was definitely the order of the day and one man who loves to shoot down the middle is army marksmen Keith Evans. He started and finished badly but virtual par golf in the middle 12 holes was enough to earn him third place.
Going one better was Michael Swan whose 38 points on another day would have been good enough for the top spot, unfortunately Ed Brukaber decided to have “one of those days” and stormed home with 43 points.
Tuesday, Nov. 28, Phoenix Gold – Stableford

1st Frankie Hughes (21) 38pts
2nd Shigeki Toyoshima (20) 34pts
3rd Geoff Beckett (28) 34pts
On Tuesday 37 golfers visited Phoenix Gold to experience a 6 hour round of golf. Heavily overbooked the players had to start their rounds with no buggies, and some were without a caddie.
This did not stop some from producing some great scores. In division 2, Frankie Hughes cruised to 38 points to lift the top prize while both Geoff Beckett and Shigeki Toyoshima scored 34.
Mike Rushant headed the division 1 field with 41 points, one ahead of Paul Durkan in second.
The day was overshadowed later by the sad news that Jack Mooney had passed away in hospital. He had actually played earlier but was taken ill during his round of golf. He will be sadly missed by all at the TRGG as he was a kind man who had a history with golf that few could match.
Wednesday, Nov. 29, Greenwood – Stableford

Division 2
1st Michael Wadding (17) 33pts
2nd Bill Corby (20) 32pts
3rd Frankie Hughes (20) 30pts
On Wednesday the vast expanse of Greenwood was the destination for the end of month Ferdinand Cup.
With the course playing as long as usual scoring was made tough by the slower than usual greens. In division 2, Michael Wadding did enough with 33 points to take the top prize ahead of Bill Cosby and Frankie Hughes.
Seil Peter, currently in a rich vein of form, shot a fine round of 40 points to top the premier flight, with Tristan Gilbert and Paul Durkan making up the minor places.
Thursday, Nov. 30, Silky Oaks – Stableford
1st Mike Rushant (11) 41pts
2nd Seil Peter (08) 39pts
3rd Graham Hurdon (06) 38pts
Three wins in his last four outings has seen Mike Rushant handicap plummeting towards single figures and his score of 41 points today was good enough to blow the opposition away.
Seil Peter’s journey through the handicaps continued with his 39 points being good enough to take second place and Graham Hurdon just beat wife Carmen into third place by virtue of a stronger back 9.
Friday, Dec. 1, Burapha – Stableford
Division 1
1st Sakai Yasuo (11) 41pts
2nd Michael Wading (17) 38pts
3rd Alan Thomas (07) 37pts
Division 2
1st Colin Smith (18) 37pts
2nd Shigeki Toyoshima (20) 36pts
3rd Bill Corby (20) 36pts
A large field of 35 golfers made their way over to Burapha and in division 2 the sprightly Bill Corby shot 36 points to take third position. He was just beaten into second by Shigeki Toyoshima by Shigeki finishing the stronger of the two. First prize went to the big hitting Australian Colin Smith whose strong 37 points was good enough for first place.
Sakai Yasuo and his 41 points was more than enough to take away the day’s top prize in division 1, finishing three ahead of Michael Wading in second while Alan Thomas was a further point back in third.
Saturday, Dec. 2, Pattavia – Stableford
1st Billy Allan (21) 40pts
2nd Rod Ewan (13) 36pts
3rd Frank Hughes (20) 35pts
Frankie Hughes was once again in fine form and his 35 points were good enough for third place. Just beating Frank was Rod Ewan who managed to conquer the difficult greens to score a fine 36 points. However, the round of the day came from Billy Allan who shot a stunning 40 points even with three blobs on his card to take the winner’s prize.
