Sailors gave alms to monks in Sattahip to make merit for Father’s Day.

Vice Adm. Sukiti Sa-ngiem­phong of the Sattahip Naval Base led officers, enlisted personnel and local government officials in giving alms to 89 monks from nine area temples at Prince Chumphon Public Park Dec. 4.

Sukiti said every Thai was grateful for the kindness of HM the late King Bhumibol and that his Dec. 5 birthday remains the country’s Father’s Day.

With his kindness, intelligence and desire to eliminate difficulties and bring happiness to his people, HM King Rama IX worked hard for his people’s benefit and the country, he said.
