Sattahip residents gave alms to 89 monks to honor King Rama IX on Father’s Day.
District Chief Pongpan Yommart led the group in the Dec. 5 ceremony featuring monks from nine local temples. A “tak baht” merit-making event followed.
Pongpan said the event united the local community to do good deeds in the name of the late monarch.
Officials spoke on how HM late King Bhumibol worked for the nation and urged the public to carry on his legacy.
