Pattaya laid plans for next month’s children and teacher’s days at a meeting with the city’s 11 public schools.

Education Department chief Napisitcha Na Nakorn organized a meeting Dec. 13 to map out details of the Jan. 13 Children’s Day and Jan. 16 Teacher’s Day. The main agenda item was fixing the budgets for two city-sponsored events.

Children’s Day activities at City Hall will run 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will feature games, a showcase of projects created by each school and booths manned by private companies and community organizations offering educational activities and music.

The Teacher’s Day event will unfold at the Eastern National Indoor Sports Stadium on Soi Chaiyapruek. The day will begin with a merit-making ceremony with monks for area temples participating.

Teachers from all of Pattaya’s schools will be present to award certificates to outstanding students. Teachers also will receive commendations, with students getting a chance to nominate their favorite instructors.
