Local police, the Lions Club of Pattaya and a group of old-motorbike enthusiasts staged a noisy parade of two-stroke motorcycles to bring people’s attention to the need for safe driving during the holidays.

Pattaya Police Chief Pol. Col. Apichai Kroppech and Tourist Police Commander Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong Ensarn led the procession of old two-stroke motorbikes from the Beach and Central roads intersections to South Road, Second Road and back to the starting line Dec. 24.

The bikes, supplied by the Burapa Two-Stroke Engine Motorcycle Group of the Eastern Region, served the purpose of getting passersby to pay attention to the police chiefs’ message.

Authorities warned drivers to be extra careful during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, obey all traffic laws, wear helmets and don’t drink and drive.
